The story of a couple who ended up stranded on the sidewalk in the middle of the night while their SUV went off the road is one of the most disturbing tales to come out of the US in recent memory.
The woman and her young son were reportedly riding their SUV to a friend’s house when the vehicle hit the pedestrian on the ground and the woman was ejected from the vehicle, suffering a concussion.
The crash was caught on video and has since gone viral on social media, garnering more than 40,000 likes on Facebook.
It’s one of many horrific scenes that have been caught on cameras and shared across social media in recent years.
The incident happened at the intersection of the 2200 block of North Lake Avenue and North Lake Street in North Chicago on November 6.
The couple, who are described as Caucasian, are described in the video as Hispanic, 20 to 25 years old, 5’10” tall, and weighing 150 pounds.
The woman’s son, who is black, is described as Hispanic or African American, about 5’8″ tall and weighing 175 pounds.
Both were wearing dark clothing.
The video ends with the couple on the porch of their apartment with the windows rolled down, holding hands and looking at each other with tears in their eyes.
The man tells the woman, “You know, I think we’re going to get hurt, too.”
The woman tells him, “No, you’re going home with me.”
The man says, “What are you going to do?”
The woman replies, “I’m going to call the police.”
“They’re going for the police, so we need to be on the move.”
“The car has hit the sidewalk, so it’s going to take us a while,” the woman says.
“I don’t want to get hit by the car.”
The car then hits the woman’s child, who then falls over and is taken by ambulance.
According to ABC 7 Chicago, the man was treated at the scene and released, while the woman is still being treated at a hospital.
The video has since been shared thousands of times and been viewed nearly 2 million times.
The car in the background then crashes into the sidewalk.ABC 7 Chicago reported that the car was later recovered and a witness told the station that the couple appeared to be okay, but had been shaken by the incident.
“I can’t imagine it,” said the witness, who said she believed the crash was related to the incident on the highway.
“The car is on the wrong side of the road, but we’re not sure what’s happening on the other side.”
According to the Chicago Tribune, the family is trying to come up with a way to pay for the cost of their medical bills, but it’s unclear how much they’re willing to pay.
“They are a good family, and they have no idea what to do next,” the witness said.
“They need to get back to Chicago and find a way.
They have to be careful.”
