New Jersey’s New Jersey Institute of Technology is getting ready to install a $10 million asphalt driveway on its campus.
The driveway will be installed along the Nittany Lions’ new football stadium.
New Jersey Institute for Technology President Michael Hargrove said the road is designed to improve pedestrian and bicycle safety and traffic flow, and will help to increase pedestrian and bike speeds.
The institute is planning to use a variety of materials, including concrete, to build the asphalt driveway.
New Jersey has a population of about 22,000, but it has not had a road dedicated to the use of asphalt.
